THE YUSUPOV PALACE

Built in the mid-18th century, the palace was owned by the Yusupov family, the wealthiest noble family in Russia. The tour includes the state rooms, the family theatre, and the private apartments. The Yusupov Palace is renowned for its stunning interiors, among them the gorgeous Moorish Room with Islamic arches and glittering mosaics and the elegant Rococo theatre. The palace is also interesting from the historical point of view as the site of Grigory Rasputin’s murder, which is also part of the tour. The palace is included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
