NEWS/10.02.2009 To all National Governing Bodies of the International Taekwon-do Federation

Dear Sirs,
I am delighted and honoured to inform you that the XVI World Taekwon-do ITF Championships will be held in a beautiful city of Saint-Petersburg, Russia on October 12-20, 2009.
Our city is considered to be one of the biggest cultural centres of the world with vast experience of hosting major sports tournaments, some of the latest are Ice Hockey, Handball and Fencing World Championships. The Saint-Petersburg Taekwon-do Federation has been given an honourable right to organise and conduct the World Taekwon-do ITF Championships. Our federation hosted the World Taekwon-do ITF Championships in 1997 and we will do our best to make the forthcoming Championships even better, give you a warm welcome and make your stay a pleasant one.
The Championships are supported by the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Politics, the National Olympic Committee as well as the Saint-Petersburg City Government.
On behalf of the Russian Taekwon-do ITF Federation and the Organising Committee, I have a great personal privilege of inviting all the members of the International Taekwon-do Federation to the XVI World Taekwon-do ITF Championships.
